Thank You Ida

Ida started working at the formal Zeus Communication before it was officially Uncle Khoe’s K9 Shelter. Altogether, Ida had work for about 6-7 years in the shelter.

Ida is a very selfless woman also a very fun woman to be with. She has been taking care of UK9 residences for the longest time we could possibly imagine. Cleaning a shelter, it’s not easy. From clearing the pee and poops to making their daily meals. Ida – who holds 2 jobs everyday 24/7, including public holidays. During the day, she would go for her part time job and in the late afternoon, she will be at Uncle Khoe’s shelter no matter rain or shine. She will be there giving the dogs love, kisses and care.

In October 2016, Ida became very ill and had to do chemotherapy and was unable to work as per normal again.

In late July 2017, Ida passed on. All our volunteers and ex-volunteers, compound workers were devastated. She will be dearly missed and loved by all of us.

Below are some words from our volunteers to Ida..

  • Ida, thank you for being the most wonderful person we could possibly have. Thank you for your selfless contribution and love for the dogs. Even though you might be always complaining to me here pain, there pain, but you are very patient and strong. You are in a much better place now with no more suffering. I will miss you ~ Tian hui

  • Ida’s love and dedication to the dogs never ceased to amaze me. I used to head down to the shelter on Fridays after school and we soon grew close. We laughed together, smiled together, sighed together. Our age gap did not prevent our beautiful friendship from blossoming. Despite growing physically weaker as her health deteriorated, her love for the dogs never once wavered. I am so honoured to have met this beautiful woman and I am sure, if the dogs could speak, they would say so too. ~ N.Raihan

  • Thank you Ida for showing me the ways of the shelter, and for showing me an unconditional love that transcends age, species, race, religion and words. I miss you a lot and the shelter is so different now. But while you're not here physically, I'm sure you're looking over us, smiling and happy. Till we meet again. ~ Hui Feng

  • Thank you for taking care and giving your everything for the dogs, even when you are sick, you are more worried for the dogs than your health. Till we meet again, Ida. ~ May

  • Although I didn't get to speak or interact with Ida, she is someone whom I have seen to take good care of dogs despite fighting with her bad health condition. She will not complain even if it is very tiring for her no matter what, and this is what I respect the most. Rest well, Ida. ~ Melvin

Dearest Ida, thank you for all your love and care for the doggies, you are one of the purest soul I've known. Thank you for being a dear friend, you will be missed dearly. ~ Tia Tan
